The Los Angeles Chargers have had a mediocre start to this year’s NFL season so far. The 1:2 record is mainly blamed on head coach Brandon Staley, who causes astonishment with questionable decisions – even within his own team.
Last Sunday the Chargers were able to get their first win of the season. At 28:24, the coaching team surprisingly did without JC Jackson, even though the top cornerback was fit. The affected person therefore shot against his own head coach during the week and certainly caused additional tension in the dressing room.
“I have [Brandon Staley] asked: ‘What do you actually expect from me?'” Jackson revealed to “NFL.com” on Wednesday and then sounded almost desperate.
“I did everything. I came back from my injury pretty quickly. I did extra work after practice, even in the meeting rooms. I watched extra film and was a good teammate, so I don’t know what’s going on.” , the pass defender appeared perplexed.
The sought-after conversation with Staley did not bring the hoped-for success. “I’m still a little confused and still don’t have an answer as to why I’m being treated this way,” concluded Jackson, who had three pass interceptions, three tackles and one interception in the first two weeks.
NFL expert counts Brandon Staley
Incidentally, the Chargers have so far performed poorly on defense both with and without JC Jackson. In Michael Robinson’s eyes, the air is slowly getting thin for Bradon Staley.
“His seat is really hot,” the NFL Network analyst recently concluded. “Not just because of the analytics he constantly relies on, but because he’s a defensive guru and has the worst defense in the National Football League. They allow 450 yards per game. That can’t happen.”
Los Angeles currently ranks second to last in the NFL in yards allowed per game. Only the Denver Broncos (458.3) are worse off in this category.
