Dubai (AP) – Davis Cup professional Jan-Lennard Struff was eliminated in the first round of the tournament in Dubai.
The 31-year-old tennis player from Warstein lost against the Lithuanian qualifier Ricardas Berankis 1:6, 6:3, 3:6. For Struff it was the third first-round defeat in a row.
The German number two has only won one match this year, at the ATP Cup earlier this year against the American John Isner. Next week, Struff will lead the German Davis Cup team as number one in the game in Brazil.
