After the wedding of the biathlon dream couple Antonia Fräbel and Philipp Horn, the next star of the scene is under the hood: Slovakian Paulína Fialkova has given the yes-word to former walker Milos Batovsky.
Fialkova announced this on Instagram. “A wonderful event with our beloved family, in a beautiful setting,” wrote the 29-year-old about some photos from her wedding.
Fialkova has been competing in the Biathlon World Cup since 2012. However, she has not yet been able to win. The Slovakian has been on the podium eight times so far.
Her best World Cup placement was sixth in the 2018/2019 season. In 2016 she won two silver medals at the European Championships in Tyumen: in the mixed relay and in the mass start.
Her husband Milos Batovsky competed in the Olympic Games from 2004 to 2012. In 2004 in Athens, the now 42-year-old finished 18th over the 50 kilometers.
Biathlon dream couple celebrates wedding with many celebrity guests
Just last week, Germany’s dream biathlon couple Antonia Fräbel and Philipp Horn said yes. Among the 70 guests were many (former) greats of the German biathlon scene, including Benedikt Doll, Erik Lesser, Lucas Fratzscher and David Zobel. Cross-country skiing Olympic champion Katharina Hennig was also present.
“My home is not a place, that’s YOU,” Philipp Horn wrote to his wife on Instagram and also posted six photos from the wedding in Ilmenau.
Since she has taken her husband’s surname, Antonia Fräbel will be on the road as Antonia Horn in the competition circus in the future.
The 25-year-old only announced her move to the biathlon camp at the end of April. In the past, Denise Herrmann, Kati Wilhelm and Vanessa Hinz, among others, had good experiences with a new start in another discipline.
