The first World Cup downhill of the season in Lake Louise, which was planned for Friday, has been postponed to Saturday at short notice. The then planned Super-G will be canceled without replacement.
As the International Ski Federation (FIS) announced, the race will be postponed to Saturday (November 26, 2022) “due to the current weather situation and the forecast for the rest of the day”. Up to 15 centimeters of fresh snow are forecast for the evening. The start of the race is scheduled for 12.30 p.m. local time (20.30 p.m. CEST).
Super-G is sacrificed
The descent on the “Olympic Downhill“-course from Lake Louise, where Thomas Dreßen (Mittenwald) wants to celebrate his World Cup comeback after a two and a half year injury break, should be the first World Cup descent of the season. The two races planned for the beginning of October on the Matterhorn were already too high temperatures have been cancelled.
In addition to the downhill, two Super G races were also planned for Saturday and Sunday; the Super G on Saturday has now been canceled in favor of the downhill.
