The seven -time world champion is currently not lucky in the “premier class”. Now there is another damper – because of a measure of his team. Three other drivers are also punished.
For Lewis Hamilton, the Grand Prix of Belgium begins with a bitter damper. As the FIA Automobile Association announced on Sunday morning, the Brit must take the race in Spa-Francorchamps from the pit lane. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) and Carlos Sainz (Williams) are also affected.
The reason: the cars from Hamilton, Alonso and Antonelli received new drive units before the start of the race – an intervention that, according to the regulations, has a starting place penalty. Hamilton originally qualified in 16th place after a weak sprint, right ahead of Antonelli (18th) and Alonso (19th). Changes were also made at Sainz ‘car.
The starting point for the seven -time world champion worsens. In addition, during the 70th edition of the Grand Prix of Belgium, rain is predicted – conditions that could also make the race more difficult. At the top, Lando Norris starts in the McLaren from the pole position, followed by teammate Oscar Piatri and Charles Leclerc in Ferrari.
