Bielefeld (dpa) – According to reports in the newspapers “Neue Westfälische” and “Westfalen-Blatt”, Arminia Bielefeld has separated from coach Frank Kramer in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga.
The club did not confirm the exemption at the request of the German Press Agency. After the 3-0 defeat at the weekend against FC Bayern Munich, the East Westphalians are in a direct relegation zone four rounds before the end of the season.
According to information from the newspaper, assistant coach Ilia Gruev should no longer be part of the coaching team. Goalkeeper coach Marco Kostmann is to lead the training with the support of Michael Henke. The longtime assistant coach was recently without a club.
Kramer took over the Bielefeld team from his predecessor Uwe Neuhaus in March 2021 and led the team to 15th place. This secured his place in the class. After the last six defeats in seven games without a win and only one goal scored, the pressure on the Arminia team and Kramer increased. Next Saturday, the Bielefeld team will play at 1. FC Köln.
