News | “The weight of the body”

In times of primacy of the image, showing valued objects at a social level has become a symbol of status and belonging.

It flaunts various gadgets (devices with a specific function, practical and innovative, technological and non-technological for almost any activity), feeling powerful who owns them.

The goal is to get as many glances as possible, face-to-face and virtual. The transition from one form to the other occurs almost immediately, translating into “likes” and “followers”. If this happens, the “dream of going viral” is coming.

A sick dream?

“Go viral” (derived from the term “virus”, infectious microorganisms with great contagion capacity), a curious name for something longed for.

The boundaries between the public and the private become blurred, disclosing the intimate to a large audience.

“The more I show, the more looks I get.”

A greater number of followers is not synonymous with being chosen. False belief of showing excessively to feel more desired. Pulling the veil completely shuts down desire.

So why am I getting more views?

An excess when showing, leads to exhibitionism, catching the eyes from the morbidity that “seeing more and more beyond what is allowed” generates.

“Influence or influenza (virus)?”

Every time you hear more among teenagers, wanting to be “influencers”, obtaining fame and money.

Influence the other, regardless of the content too much. Empty images, superficial and noisy stories, bodies fragmented by parts to be exhibited. A high psychic cost, of which one is not aware.

“Is the body a gadget?”

A body and its parts have acquired great power at a social level. “Show the tail”, without caring too much about the rest. And it is precisely in that rest, in which the subject falls with his emotions, thoughts, ideas and dreams.

If the body matters so much, it is inevitable that it will become heavy. And that weight becomes a mark, appearing various symptoms: obesity, eating disorders, cuts, allergies, etc.

“The value of what is not shown”

Although it seems paradoxical in the 21st century, what is not shown is what is worth more.

When a patient arrives at the office, one of the first remarks made is: “What is spoken in this space remains in this space. The history of each person and their privacy is the most valuable and precious thing”.

Bits of stories give rise to wonderful anecdotes, emotions that flow and vibrate.

Moments of feeling-is, unique and unrepeatable experiences that escape to a screen. The behind the scenes, intimate and genuine, regardless of the look of the other. Connect with your own desire, feeling free from heavy and painful looks.
