★★★★1/ 2 Dear Centennials: There was a time when it was beautiful and movies like this were box office hits at the Gran Rex movie theater on Corrientes Avenue for months (yes, it was a movie theater, not a recital hall). In other words, the story of a mènage-à-trois that becomes a huge satire not only of relationships and romance, but of all bourgeois conformity. Depardieu and Blanc dressed and made up as women at no time do anything that can be understood as a macho mockery: rather Blier, who was one of the most iconoclastic, fun and free filmmakers that cinema gave, uses the absurd situation to throw when he can dart against the morality that today has become political correctness or the “woke” mentality. Mentality that today would make it impossible for many sequences of this funny beauty to be filmed. See this, break everything.
