How did Okidoki come about?
The idea of Kids Café in Korea and the United States is very common. When I was traveling I saw it and it always seemed like a good idea. As a parent, I know how important it is to be able to have a coffee while your children have fun. Okidoki’s goal is for children and parents to enjoy themselves, I am especially concerned that they are well and that there are delicious things to eat.
The first Okidoki Oso store opened in February 2020 in Flores and the second store arose from the need of those who accompany us in this project, adults and children. Every day we grew and many children ran out of turns to come and play, that is why Okidoki Conejo was born in Villa Ortuzar in September of this year.
What services do you provide to the public?
From the beginning Okidoki was thought of as a place for the little ones, however, we also like to make adults feel comfortable. That’s why we have WIFI, comfortable spaces, chargers and a good cafeteria. The purpose is that adults can come to work while the little ones have fun. At snack time there are a lot of coffees and day by day we try to continue perfecting our staff with courses with baristas. We know that those little things change the experience.
Both Okidoki venues are designed for families with sons and daughters from 0 to 9 years old who can use the soft square, the symbolic playground and the giant inflatable, ball pit and bouncy beds. While we do have staff that are in the play area, adults can also come in and play with their children.
What hours are the shifts?
We have 1:50 p.m. shifts, from Monday to Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are from 2:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. On weekends and holidays, we start at 11 am and end at 9 pm.
We also do 3-hour birthdays from Monday to Friday with wizards, giant bears, dinosaurs or costumes. Each family can put together the proposal that most satisfies them.
We want families to come have fun. The adults chatting or working and enjoying a coffee, alone or with family friends, and the kids playing.
