News | Nicole Peters

Nicole, what are the services you provide as a professional?

I provide legal advice and projects at a governmental and private, national and international level. In turn, I write articles, give conferences and when I can organize my own programs, usually on the SDGs, rights, education and young leaders.

“Personal Nicole” and “professional Nicole” are not different and that is my imprint: Work being humane, transparent and with common sense. We need to break stereotypes allowing ourselves to understand each other and thus promote efficiency.

How did you start?

As a child, I joined a solidarity group sponsoring rural schools and psychiatric hospitals. Seeing different realities brought me down from the clouds and awakened my vocation for service, from there I did not stop.

It was clear to me that I wanted to contribute to society, empower and reduce gaps, so I designed a path to empower myself. I participated in NGOs, projects, I went to thousands of academic seminars, I got involved in the environment to learn by observing, I even studied public speaking and image. In my wallet I had copies of my cv to distribute. So I went away. In my networks you can see my work.

What do you think was the key to making a difference from your profession?

Have character, make an effort, train myself, be tenacious, be passionate, have clear objectives and know that there are always things to improve.

I try that my columns are to step on the street, have a comprehensive approach and exercise my emotional intelligence, I want my service to be decisive.

Wanting to venture into a macho field, without space for young people, without contacts or money is difficult. They put obstacles in my way and several of those who helped me when they saw that I was growing more than they wanted they let go of my hand but I always continued.

Knowing what it costs impacts engagement. I’m 25 years old, it’s still difficult, but the person and the professional I want to be involves going the long way, so I try to use this to my advantage to build my character.

What spaces should young people have?

I work many programs with young people. We have to have more space. I notice that many are willing and qualified, but are unable to reach decision-making positions, and several of those who have the most opportunities follow the pattern that was being used. That is why I believe that we need to restructure the system, without falling into arrogance and without Stop listening to those who have experience. Our incorporation must be thanks to our ideas and not just by image, shouting or followers on networks.

What challenges do you have ahead?

Continue with my work already mentioned and communicate. I have planned trips and projects, but I am always looking to expand the network. My goal is to bring new proposals to the country and unite ties. I want a better Argentina.
