News | Kentaro’s pregnancy

★★★ There’s nothing new under the sun, folks. This series tells how a man who gets pregnant and suffers and lives, in his own/male flesh, what happens to a woman who works in the same situation. It shows how old or crazy one or both is to say that Jacques Demy did the same with “The most important event since man walked the Earth”, and where the pregnant one was Marcello Mastroianni. Why the comparison? Because this Japanese series stretches to eight or ten hours what Demy had more than enough to tell in one and a half (in fact it is a weak film because there is not much to say. Only that the world has always been unfair to women and that men , they tend to forget it.Although it opts for melodrama at times, Pregnancy… is a satire that satirises what is no longer necessary.
