News | “DB Cooper, where are you?”

★★★1/2 The nice thing about this three-episode miniseries, one more in the fruitful field of investigative police, is that the case is nice and doesn’t include murders, abused children, or anything like that. In fact, the base story is cute: a man hijacked a plane with zero violence, asked for a lot of money, had a few drinks, smoked a few cigarettes and finally jumped off the plane mid-flight to disappear for good. Since the fact, in November 1971, no one knows what happened to the kidnapper or the money, or who he was; the name alone has become famous and generated hundreds of fantasies. In those days of low security control, when being a pilot or stewardess was every boy’s dream, the plane was almost a fantastic creature. The miniseries never leaves aside that fascination for the environment that gave more mythical weight to a still unsolved case, whatever the documentary says.
