What led you to start By Inheritance?
I have been in the antiques market for more than 12 years, in 2019 with the pandemic, antique shops and auctions closed, and no interesting works appeared that caught my attention.
I have always been interested in furniture for its elegance, style, quality and rarity. However, she was focused on another branch of antiquities.
When the new virtual modality emerged, I began to see much more furniture than before, that’s where I began to acquire it. In December 2021, after months of work, I launched the brand.
What does it mean to give a second life or a new opportunity to a piece of furniture?
When furniture is inherited from grandparents or even parents or relatives, young people often see it as something old, dark and dirty. For example, bronze (silverware) turns black, very dark wood, humidity, blows and transfers that they can suffer, affect their appearance and we can understand what they were subjected to over time. They are furniture over 50, 80 and 100 years old; They already have their own story.
Our goal is to bring them to the present and give them life again by handcrafting them with dedication and expertise. In this way, I look for the piece of furniture or object to be part of a unique space with personality and originality.
What is the added value that you offer in By Inheritance?
Thanks to the experience, learning and observation acquired after 12 years in the Antiques market, I offer a transformation process so that the client can see that radiance that the furniture had in the past, preserving its imperfections that give it its mark.
What goals do you have for this year?
The brand is just coming onto the market, so it is important to develop it through good marketing.
At the same time, to be able to generate in the client the satisfaction of decorating their environments with exclusive products while maintaining high quality and design.
What did the difficulties you encountered teach you until you came up with this innovative proposal?
The ability to adapt to changes, and to be able to find a new way of continuing to work with antiques, through furniture.
They are works that have existed for a long time before us and will continue to exist for more generations.
