How did the company come about?
BRUGA started five years ago, when I met Shaper Marcelo Laprovitera, he has been doing boards since 1998 and had his brand called Serena, we connected from day one. The idea of carrying out the project began as a result of a conversation with Marcelo. It’s been years since I’ve been turning in my head to draw tables, union is strength and now not only do we work together but he’s my brother.
Why is entrepreneurship called BRUGA?
It is a family business, we all contribute something, my sisters help me a lot, the name was chosen by my father. BRU de Bruno and GA de Gael, my two little nephews aged 4 and 6. I hope that tomorrow will be all of them!
What products do they offer to the public?
We make custom surfboards, with any type of size and design, being fun because we interact a lot with clients and artists. I found a beautiful passion, art and surfing.
What are your goals for the coming years?
The project is to make the best boards and improve every day. That is why we buy top-of-the-line products, and we are finishing up a new workshop from scratch, in order to guarantee the best quality in the boards. This is just beginning, I’m really enjoying the process, but I think that when something is made with love and passion it doesn’t fail.
Another challenge we have is to continue helping surf schools by donating boards. We are passionate about seeing how people connect with the sea, every time they come out of the water with a smile, that drives me crazy and is worth everything to me.
We also hold surfing tournaments for the benefit of kitchens and we constantly donate Dog Bowls to all the shelters that need them. The objectives is; the more you give, the more you receive.
