What is celebrated on November 19?
On November 19, the International Day of Women Entrepreneurs is celebrated and its purpose is to make women visible and continue contributing to the empowerment of women in the world, in addition to ending gender inequality.
The regions of the planet that present the highest rates of women’s entrepreneurship are those that are in the process of development, such as Latin America and Africa. In Angola, out of every ten women, four or more are able to develop their own business, the same occurs in countries like Chile and Colombia.
Majo, why is it a special date for you?
For me and my project, this date is more than special since it celebrates the achievement of many women who, like me, want to be independent and competitive in the labor market. Women who form our own path.
Is there a relationship between this date and your project?
My project, Estudio Brandis, is focused on promoting brands with a purpose, led by women. Strengthen, from the Branding Design of your project or business, what they do, their business vision and them too, since a well-designed Branding aligned to the values as a person and as a brand, positions, defines and identifies them, within the category to which they belong.
I believe and identify with projects that, I like to say, “they do good to the world”, projects of a holistic nature, with a sensitive and sustainable perspective.
What does it feel like to be an entrepreneurial woman?
Being a woman entrepreneur today requires a lot of courage since the gap is still very uneven, but it is not impossible.
Creating alliances and building networks is the basis for growing and empowering ourselves. Support us, create links, accompany us and empower us… because if one grows, we all grow.
This 19 I celebrate being a woman who forms her own path every day and who works to empower more women to walk it.
I invite you to transit yours… Do you dare to make that project you have in mind a reality?
I take advantage of this very significant and foundational date to express my solidarity with the subjugated women that still exist in the world today, where their rights are curtailed and where they are imposed on how to dress, how to behave and who do not even have the freedom to protest. My affection and appreciation for your struggle.
