★★★★ Within the Star Wars universe, the film Rogue One is one of the best, for its mixture of psychological realism and fantastic action, always balanced. From that film comes Cassian Andor, the protagonist of this series, played by Diego Luna. He is also one of the most “adult” of Star Wars: overtones of black police, dry violence, environments not understandable to a child and lateral dialogues. The visual aspect (that suburb outside of imperial luxury) shows what it is: understand what are the reasons for the Resistance against the Empire. However, it is the first time that heroes and villains have some ambiguity (far from the failed Obi Wan, for example) that makes them much more interesting than in other derivatives. By the way, that is not what makes it “better” (Mandalorian is still the most effective and beautiful series in this entire universe) but it does manage to capture our interest beyond the “Star Wars” label. We’ll see how it evolves.
