★★★★ 1/2 Yellowstone prequel and another brick in the “Taylorverse”, the western universe that the author of “With nothing to lose” builds showing the epic and tragic fabric of his America. Here we have a war for a piece of land, a very strong woman (Mirren is one of the best things the screen has ever produced), and a plot that includes adventure, tragedy, melodrama and the density of a novel. That is perhaps the greatest success of this series where nature complements the character and appearance of the characters: taking the time to build even the smallest of secondary characters and making them part of the plot without seeming like an addition. There is also a field of unpredictability that generates suspense in each episode to the point that, even in the unfailing of the story, anything can happen. Pure cinema, moreover, in the best tradition of that word.
