Newly built Pieperpand and garden center Zwart will receive almost three hundred thousand euros

The new construction plans at the locations of the former Pieperpand in Nieuw-Schoonebeek and Bloemenhandel Zwart in Barger-Oosterveld receive financial support from the province. In total, almost three hundred thousand euros in subsidies will be earmarked for both plans.

Developer Hans Peter wants to realize the Bargerhof on the site of the Zwart garden centre, which has since been demolished. His plan consists of 18 ground-level dwellings, i.e. dwellings that are directly accessible at street level.

Due to soil pollution, it was not possible for a long time to make the redevelopment profitable while retaining a village setting. With a subsidy of more than 140,000 euros, this should now be possible.

In Nieuw-Schoonebeek, residents have long been annoyed by the neglected site of the former transport company Pieper. Three developers (Bouwgroep Emmen, construction company Avitec and project developer Sander Dragtstra) have been working together since this year to remove this rotten tooth.

The former bus depot must make way for a residential complex in the form of a farm with sixteen apartments, intended for young people and starters. The project can count on a subsidy of 150,000 euros.
