Shortly after his single “chelsea 2009”, which was released in January, Nikan already has the next one in his luggage. The newcomer from NRW didn’t choose his own hood as the setting for the new track, but the streets of London and Brixton. Nikan makes it clear: He is ready for the next step in his young career and apparently no pandemic can thwart his plans: “Fuck lockdown, Shawty, I’m coming,” he raps. Listen to Nikan’s new single “Link Up (prod. Stickle)” streamed here:
The track was produced by NOV11 label boss DJ Stickle, some of whom are already on the joint track list with Nikan. The sound is relaxed and exudes vibes suitable for clubs.
The 21-year-old rapper from Düsseldorf made his debut with his ALL IN / PLAN A EP in 2021, from which “Energy” and “Shorty Klickt” in particular might be known. In any case, the rapper can hardly wait to “finally perform his music live” after more than two years of the pandemic, according to Nikan. In addition, the singles “chelsea 2009” and “Link Up” can both be heard on his EP, which will be released this May.
A FIRST HEARING SAMPLE OF NIKAN WILL BE STREAMED HERE:
