New Zealander Porteous flies to gold in the halfpipe – Olympia

With spectacular tricks, perfect grabs and clean landings, Nico Porteous secured the Olympic victory in the halfpipe. Silver and bronze in the 220-meter pipe at Zhangjiakou Genting Snow Park, through which a strong wind blew on Saturday, went to David Wise and Alex Ferreira of the USA.

Porteaus showed a spectacular performance in his first run, which was rewarded with 93 points. Not only did he put the competition under pressure right at the start of the competition, the first run was enough for the New Zealander to win gold.
