New Zealand wins first ever gold medal at Winter Games

New Zealand’s Zoi Sadowski-Synnott won gold at the Olympics on Sunday in slopestyle. Her win is unique for her country, which has never won a gold medal at the Winter Games before. The American Julia Marino was second and the Australian Tess Coady was third.

The Dutch Melissa Peperkamp was missing in the final. She scored the thirteenth score in qualifying on Saturday, which was just too little to qualify for Sunday’s game.
