New York Stocks Conclusion: Inflation data weighs on prices

NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – Inflation data that was slightly above expectations put pressure on prices on the US stock exchanges on Thursday. At the close of trading, the leading index Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) fell by 0.51 percent to 33,631.14 points. This ended the recovery that had driven the Dow higher for four trading days in a row. Yields on the US bond market rose sharply again after recently falling.

The market-wide S&P 500 lost 0.62 percent to 4349.61 points. The technology-heavy NASDAQ 100 fell by 0.37 percent to 15,184,100 points. Here, prices from the semiconductor industry such as KLA (KLA-Tencor), Broadcom and Applied Materials held up well with premiums of up to almost 4 percent./bek/he
