“Today we make 19 thousand,” says baker Willem Steenbergen with a stony face about the number of oliebollen that roll off the production line. “We’re almost done. Today we were able to bake nicely. It’s going perfectly.”
What do Steenbergen’s bulbs look like? “We are satisfied. But, we will also have them inspected.”
“What makes my oliebollen good? They are technically good. That is also the strictest inspection. And that is also important for health, because it should not be too greasy or burnt.”
