The boxing world is very concerned about cult trainer Ulli Wegner (80). The world champion maker of Sven Ottke, Artur Abraham and Co. has been back in the accident hospital in Berlin since Monday.

The boxing guru, who lives in Tegel, is still suffering from a femoral neck fracture suffered on New Year’s morning 2022. Another operation is scheduled for April 11th. Wegner: “The pain is unbearable, especially at night.”

Wegner even consulted a specialist in Arnstadt (Thuringia) and got a second opinion. Diagnosis: The nail inserted in the thigh is obviously too long and rubs against the bone.

A twenty-day stay in a clinic in Sommerfeld (Brandenburg) for pain therapy brought nothing.

Wegner: “When I was released, I said to the chief physician: ‘Doctor, your clinic rightly bears the name pain clinic. I went in here with hope and came out with pain.’”

The only way out is surgery. It is already the seventh operation with general anesthesia within two years.
