The ice hockey championship league started on Tuesday with a replay of last spring’s final series Tappara–TPS.
In the match, attention was drawn to TPS’s kit, which was almost entirely white.
The Turku players’ pants were off-white, and even the jersey had only two black stripes. The logo was on the small chest.
With the former chairman of the Ice Hockey Association Kalervo in Kummola had a strong opinion about the reform.
– Tepsi’s new outfit can already be called the flop of the SM league season. An all-white outfit with a couple of silly stripes, he wondered on the social media service Twitter.
– Tepsi tried something similar 50 years ago and quickly had to change his pants back to black. They were so dirty even before Christmas.

The new game uniforms also shared opinions on social media more widely. Some felt that it is difficult to find out about the game numbers, because the black number goes on top of the black stripe on the back of the shirt.
– He brought TPS’s away shirt, which looked shocking. Ugh, one writes.
– Oh that! TPS’ game outfits are indeed a real diamond, another praises.
– I think Tepes’ new game outfit is damn great. The only problem is that I can’t make out the numbers even with grandma Ritva’s bottle-bottomed glasses, the third ponders.
– Those white TPS uniforms this month are stylish! Especially white tank tops and gloves. Minus the numbers, at least through TV it’s hard to find out about them, the fourth pondered.
A renewal for the festive season

The new uniforms are about TPS’s centenary season.
The jersey of the league team changes every month and reflects the various changes in the club’s history.
– The presentation of different eras with jerseys starts in September with a shirt that honors the early years of the hockey division, when TPS played with black and white striped shirts without a logo, the club’s website says.
In recent years, the people of Turku have played with either an all-black or all-white jersey. The pants have been black.
