New viewing platform on the roof of Music Center in Dranouter

The ‘Sound Panorama’ vantage point fits in with the project of the province and tourism company Westtoer to create a network of vantage points. The Dranoeter non-profit organization includes the roof terrace in its operation.

Investment of a quarter of a million

In addition to 150,000 euros from Westtoer, the Dranoeter non-profit organization itself invested 100,000 euros for the construction of the terrace at its Muziekcentrum.

“The idea is to also use this space for workshops and to organize a small concert now and then. We want to bring this place to life,” says Bavo Vanden Broeck of non-profit organization Dranoeter.

Free entrance

‘Sound Panorama’ is the eleventh vantage point in West Flanders and is also accessible free of charge every day.

By 2025 there should be more than twenty. “This year there are five more on the program: the church towers of Lissewege and Lampernisse, the Sint-Anna chapel in Dentergem, the Westerpunt in De Panne and the Belfry in Menen,” says chairman of Westtoer Sabien Lahaye-Battheu.
