New top shot also gives Jessica Schilder the outdoor record shot put

Jessica Schilder travels in top form to the World Indoor Championships. The 22-year-old shot putter from Volendam set a new Dutch outdoor record with 18.89 meters during the European Throwing Cup.

During the outdoor competition in Portugal, Schilder threw Corrie de Bruin’s more than 20-year-old record out of the books. In 1998 she threw the bullet to 18.87 meters. Schilder’s throw came two centimeters further.

Thanks to the record throw, Schilder now has both the Dutch indoor and outdoor record to her name. Two weeks ago she threw the bullet at the Dutch National Championships indoor to 19.35 meters

The World Indoor Championships are scheduled for next weekend in Belgrade. Come from Friday to Sunday no less than eleven North Hollanders in action in the Serbian capital.
