1,000 charging stations in China

Just recently, when Xpeng held its Supercharging Media Day in Guangzhou, China, which, as the name suggests, was all about charging stations. The reason for the event was, among other things, the setting up of the 1,000. Tech company’s charging station in China. There are now Xpeng charging stations in 337 Chinese cities, the network covers 3,500 kilometers, with the chargers located on the most important traffic routes in the People’s Republic. New supercharging system puts Tesla in the shade

However, this was not the only innovation presented during the Supercharging Media Day. The performance of this supercharging station even surpasses that of the top dog Tesla. It offers a maximum output of 480 kilowatts, which significantly exceeds the 250 kilowatts of the Tesla V3 Supercharger.

200 km range restored in five minutes

During a charging test at the event, the range of the Xpeng G9 model, a fully electric SUV, was recharged to 200 kilometers in just five minutes. For comparison: A comparable Tesla model can only restore a range of around 150 kilometers within five minutes at a V3 charging station.

Further expansion of the Supercharger network in China planned

While the supercharging station presented is so far the only one in China, plans are now in place to set up additional stations in ten major Chinese cities. More units are planned to be set up on major highways in 2023. By 2025, 2,000 more superchargers are to be built across China.
