New streaming service for 7.99 euros: Paramount + announces the start of Germany

The streaming market is also becoming increasingly confusing in Germany: After services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+, Paramount is the next US provider to establish itself in Germany. The subscription focuses on content produced specifically for the local audience and costs just EUR 7.99 per month. Due to a cooperation, the streaming platform will even be available in the Sky Cinema package at no extra charge. It has been known since February of this year that Paramount+ will be launched in Germany – now the date has been fixed for December.

Filmmakers of “System Crasher” committed

A German production is in the works with the cyberthriller “A Thin Line”. In the past, the producers Jakob and Jonas Weydemann were responsible for the award-winning film drama “Systemsprenger”. In the series, two twin sisters, played by Saskia Rosendahl and Hanna Hilsdorf, do everything they can to uncover environmental crimes. Eventually one of the two ends up in prison, the other continues her work underground.

Scream, South Park, Star Trek, SpongeBob

In addition, Paramount owns the rights to the entire “Star Trek” universe, which is why in the medium term all of the franchise’s content will probably be available exclusively from the new streaming provider. The series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”, which started in the United States in May, will be the first. As further highlights, the service names the horror film “Scream”, the children’s series “PAW Patrol”, the anthology format “The First Lady”, as well as the classics “South Park” and “SpongeBob SquarePants”.
