Trabzonspor went to an extraordinary general assembly to change its existing statute due to the necessity of adapting it to the provisions of the ‘Sports Clubs and Sports Federations Law’ No. 7405. Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, board members and congress members attended the congress held at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU) Atatürk Cultural Center. While the general assembly, which included 556 members, started with a roll call and opening ceremony, Mahmut Ören was appointed as the Chairman of the General Assembly Council. In addition to Ören, Mehmet Ongan, Hakan Orhan, Kenan Atalay and Salih Aladağ were also included in the council board.
Explaining the changes made in the new statute in accordance with the law, Chairman of the Council Board Mahmut Ören stated that various changes were made to make the statute more understandable and said, “General assembly and board of directors meetings can be held electronically and notification is made to the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports as stipulated in the Sports Law. Regulations such as these were included in the amendment text of the statute. The requirement for the presidential candidate of the Presidential Board of the Council to have been a member of the council board for 5 years or to have been a manager in the organs and boards for 3 years has been removed. Instead, the requirement for the candidate to be a member of the council board for at least 5 years or to have been a manager for 2 years in the organs and boards. The condition of being a vice president and general secretary was expanded, and the condition of having served as a manager in bodies and boards for at least 2 years was introduced, and club members who served honorary duties in sports federations were required to resign from membership in accordance with the instructions and current legislation, and in case they returned to membership, their past records were introduced. “The right to receive it has been given,” he said.
ACCEPTANCE OF SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP IS SET AS 20 YEARS FOR WOMEN AND 25 YEARS FOR MEN
Stating that the Advisory Board and the Archive and Museum Board were abolished with the aim of seeking expertise in some board memberships, Mahmut Ören said, “Acceptance of Council membership has been determined as 20 years for women and 25 years for men. The 10-year membership requirement for members, which serves as a reference for new members, has been reduced to 5 years.” In order to adapt the membership entrance fee and the annual fee to the economic conditions of the day, a proportional increase arrangement has been made and the discount rates of our club’s current membership fees have been renewed and fixed for 2 years. The 60-day call period for members who have not paid the fee for 2 consecutive years has been updated to 90 days in favor of the members. “Member notifications have been rearranged. People who will be presidential candidates for our club are required to collect signatures of 5 percent of the members who have the right to attend the general assembly, in addition to the 200 signatures required. The condition that managements must compensate the debts has also been fixed,” he said.
Ören also announced that the article in the draft statute, which would pave the way for foreigners to become members of Trabzonspor, was removed from the statute upon objections.
101 ARTICLES WERE VOTED IN SECTIONS
After Mahmut Ören’s speech, a moment of silence and the National Anthem were sung. While the agenda items were presented to the general assembly, the charter items were put to vote as a whole after the agenda was accepted. It was announced to the general assembly that the word ‘can be transferred’ in the statement ‘the club can take over and transfer other clubs’ in Article 8 of the draft statute was removed.
After the voting of the statute sections was completed, the new statute was put to vote in its entirety. As a result of the voting, the new charter of Trabzonspor Club was accepted by majority vote.
