New statements made about the murder of Peter R. de Vries prompted the court to reopen the investigation on Wednesday. In the case where two life sentences have been demanded, a verdict would be rendered on 14 July. It is unclear whether this is still going ahead.

According to The Parool concerns statements from an unknown witness who links the perpetrators of the murder of the crime journalist to the organization of Ridouan T.

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) added the new documents to the file on Tuesday. The court concludes from this that the investigation was not complete and therefore wants all parties to the proceedings to take note of this. The documents will be discussed on 11 July during a hearing in the court of Amsterdam.

Depending on the outcome of those talks, it will be determined whether a ruling will still be handed down on the scheduled date of 14 July.
