The commitment of Max Eberl as the new sports director of FC Bayern Munich is considered a foregone conclusion. But now it could probably start earlier than expected.
According to a media report, the impasse surrounding the expected commitment of Max Eberl as FC Bayern Munich’s sports director could be over in three weeks.
As “Bild” reported, the 50-year-old is scheduled to take up his new position on March 1st, a month earlier than planned. The prerequisite for this is that the supervisory board of the German record champions gives the green light for the personnel at its meeting on February 26th. This would allow him to familiarize himself with the club earlier and prepare for the upcoming summer transfer period.
Bayern and Leipzig agree on transfer fee
It was already announced on Tuesday that Bayern and Eberl’s current employer, RB Leipzig, had agreed on a transfer fee. According to dpa information, both clubs agree on key points, meaning Leipzig will book 4.5 million euros. However, the deal has not yet been signed.
Leipzig parted ways with Eberl at the end of September shortly before the top game against FC Bayern. From the RB bosses’ point of view, the reason was Eberl’s lack of commitment to Leipzig.
