It was quiet for the Foo Fighters for some time-but now the rock superstars around Dave Grohl are returning with new music. For the 30th anniversary of their debut album, the US rockers publish a new song-“Today’s Song” is the name of the play. In addition, Grohl is aimed at fans and bandmates in an open letter – and becomes emotionally in it.

“Over the years we have experienced moments of unrestrictive joy – and moments deepest grief. Moments of the triumphal victory – and times of painful defeats,” writes Dave Grohl. “We healed broken bones and broken hearts. But we went this path together, for each other, together – no matter what happened. Because in life you just can’t go through life alone,” continued the front man.
Then he thanks the former band members – and also calls Josh Freese. “It goes without saying that this story would be incomplete without the irrepressible energy of William Goldsmith, the experienced wisdom of Franz Stahl and the thundering magic of Josh Freese. “Taylor. Your name is pronounced every day”
Grahl becomes particularly emotionally when he writes about his late bandmate Taylor Hawkins. “And … Taylor. Your name is pronounced every day – sometimes with tears, sometimes with a smile. But you are still in everything we do, wherever we go – forever,” says Grahl.
He ends the statement with the words: “The size of your wonderful soul is only exceeded by the infinite longing that we feel in your absence. You miss us indescribably. The Foo Fighter will wear Taylor Hawkins forever in every note that we play – until one day we reach our goal.”
