Eighty -eight. The minor category tennis tournaments (Challenger, ITF, WTA 75/125) which today are held in Italy. And that are the basis of the golden age of Italian tennis. Of a generation that is not limited to Sinner, given that “the champion sends him the eternal father” as Rino Tommasi said, but full of many other first -rate players. Musetti, Cobolli, Darderi, Arnaldi, Berrettini and Sonego a few years earlier. All of them are made the bones in minor tournaments before the big jump. And, for a group that already stationed on the upper floors, there is another one that paws, waiting to cross (or even break through) the door. Let’s find out the blues of tomorrow.
