In a joint statement, Die Toten Hosen and Marteria commented on their double A-side single “SCHEISS WESSIS” / “SCHEISS OSSIS”, which will be released on March 25th. Apparently, the six musicians had similar questions about the problems resulting from German reunification: “How can it be that more than 30 years after the fall of the Wall there is still a strangeness and a heap of prejudices between East and West Germans? Why do we still speak of East and West Germans at all?” the statement reads.

Belief in unity

The subject has been pushed into the background somewhat by Putin’s war of aggression against Ukraine, but has been occupying artists for a long time. Perhaps the two pieces can also serve as banners of connection and solidarity in times like these: “Ultimately, these songs are also a plea for growing together, for common ground and for friendship,” say the band and the rapper.

One soccer ball and people become brothers

For ten years, Campino and Marteria have had a friendship that began playing soccer backstage at a festival. Art should also benefit from this: the Rostock rapper and the Düsseldorf rocker wrote a few songs together for the 15th Toten Hosen album, “Ballast der Republik”. Joint trips, parties, trips away followed – and now the double single “SCHEISS WESSIS” (Die Toten Hosen) / “SCHEISS OSSIS” (Marteria).

“Federal green” and “zonal blue” vinyl only in record stores

The vinyl, which is limited to 4,000 copies each, is already sold out on all pre-order platforms. In selected record shops there will still be a few copies of the “federal green” or “zone blue” discs for the release next Friday (March 25).
