New single from Kurt Vile

“Hey like a child you waltzed into my life/Hey like a mild high, I’m feelin’ fine,” sings Kurt Vile in typically nonchalant manner on his new single “Hey Like A Child.” Since Friday (04.03.) the second release from the album “Watch My Moves”, which will be released in April, has been confirmed.

It’s a “love song,” writes Vile on Instagram. “I wish I could spread it all over the world,” he also comments, probably referring to the love that is currently particularly missed due to the war in Ukraine.

The track stays true to Vile’s relaxed, atmospheric line and combines indie-folk sounds with psychedelic guitars. In the visualizer for the song, you can see the long-haired musician sitting on the left, shaking his foot. Vile’s eyes move from time to time and in the meantime a red die lands in his outstretched hand. Although it’s not entirely clear what the 42-year-old wants to convey to us, the video aptly reflects his casual humor.

In the music video for “Like Exploding Stones” – the first single from the long player released by “Verve Records” – Vile showed his humor and took the audience on a psychedelic disco roller skate track in Philadelphia. In the making-of for the video, he reports that he hadn’t stood on roller skates since he was a child, but then it suddenly worked as a matter of course. Therefore, his wife would have suggested that he shoot a video on a skate rink.

In September the musician, presented by ROLLING STONE, will perform live in Berlin and Cologne.
