Netflix releases many new films and series every month. The so-called self-produced originals in particular occupy an important place in the program. Netflix has already presented the first highlights for October. TECHBOOK highlights the highlights and also lists the new products in September.
The streaming service Netflix has some highlights to offer in October. As usual, there are in-house productions, new projects, but also sequels to well-known series and films. New series on Netflix in October
In October, Omar Sy returns as master thief Assane Diop in the 3rd and now probably final season of the series “Lupin” back. Another well-known name on the list of new products is “Elite“. The Spanish drama series is getting a 7th season that promises just as nasty intrigues as the previous ones. Also the Japanese series “Last One Standing“ returns after its successful first season. Exciting new series include the K-drama “Doona!“ with pop star Suzy and the horror series “The Fall of the House of Usher“ by mastermind Mike Flanagan. The project is based on the original of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe.

Lupine (Season 3) – from October 5th
The long-awaited third season of the crime series “Lupin” starts on Netflix in October. Assane Diop (Omar Sy) has cleared his father’s name. But the danger for him and his family is not yet over. After it was supposed to end after season 2, the gentleman thief is now returning to Netflix for a final coup. This time he is targeting the legendary Black Pearl – and with an announcement.
The Fall of the Land of Usher – from October 12th
The miniseries “The Fall of the House of Usher,” which will be released on Netflix in October, is the last project Mike Flanagan is doing for the streaming service. The well-known director then moves to Amazon. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe and revolves around a dark legacy in the Usher family.
Elite (Season 7) – from October 20th
Hardly any Netflix series can boast as many seasons as “Élite”. In October another one will be added with the 7th. A new season, a new semester at Las Encinas School. Intrigue, exuberant parties and the return of the audience’s favorite Omar (Omar Ayuso) await us.
New films on Netflix in October
October also offers some new films on Netflix. What particularly catches the eye is the blockbuster “Pain Hustlers“, starring Hollywood stars Chris Evans and Emily Blunt. But also the action thriller “Reptiles“ with Justin Timberlake, Benico del Toro and Alicia Silverstone seems promising, as does the erotic drama “fair play” with “Bridgerton” star Phoebe Dynevor.
Fair Play – from October 13th
Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) are analysts at a successful investment firm. They have to keep their relationship secret from their shared employer. This becomes a problem especially when Emily gets a promotion that Luke was actually expecting…
Pain Hustlers – from October 27th
The black comedy “Pain Husterls” from director David Yates is also coming to Netflix in October. Liza (Emily Blunt) is a single mother who makes ends meet by doing odd jobs. Pete (Chris Evans) is a heavily indebted pharmaceutical salesman. He gets her a job in his company and she proves to be a real sales talent. However, the two become increasingly entangled in criminal activity.
These series were new on Netflix in September
There are definitely a few series you should watch on Netflix in September! Among other things, one of the streaming service’s most successful series is celebrating its farewell: “Sex education“. The series manages like no other to deal with the turmoil of teenage life in an amusing yet profound way. It also comes to an end with the animated series “Disenchantment“, which is now finally being canceled by Netflix after five seasons. In September, fans of Asian series in particular can look forward to it! Projects like the reality format “Is She the Wolf?“ from Japan or the time travel drama “A Time Called Youfrom South Korea look extremely promising. With “Castlevania: Nocturne“One of the streaming service’s most successful animes is also getting a spin-off.
Disenchantment (Season 5) – from September 1st
In September we also have to say goodbye to Princess Bean, Elfo and Co. for good. The somewhat unconventional animated series from “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening is celebrating its conclusion on Netflix – most likely with a bang. The battle for Dreamland has not yet been decided. Can Bean defeat Queen Dagmar, even though she has to make a huge sacrifice to do so?
Virgin River (Season 5) – from September 7th
Even after four seasons, “Virgin River” is still very popular on Netflix. Because of this – and because of Mel’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) pregnancy – it was clear early on that there would be a sequel. What’s next for Mel and Jack? Will a wedding take place as planned? And how is Mel’s high-risk pregnancy going?
A Time Called You (Season 1, Miniseries) – from September 8th
Romantic K-drama about time travel. Jung-hee (Jeon Yeo-been) is still mourning her boyfriend Yeon-jun (Ahn Hyo-seop) even a year after his death. Inexplicably, however, she wakes up one day in the body of 18-year-old Min-ju – in 1998. When a young man appears who looks exactly like her deceased boyfriend, chaos is complete.
Sex Education (Season 4) – from September 21st
“Sex Education” is also entering its final season. It promises a good portion of humor and drama. After Moordale High is closed, Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Co. have to get used to a new school. And Maeve (Emma Mackey) also has to face new challenges in the USA.
Castlevania: Nocturne (Season 1) – from September 28th
Netflix celebrated a major anime success with “Castlevania”. The series lasts four seasons and is based on the successful video game series of the same name. With “Vastelvanie: Nocturne” a spin-off is coming in September. This time it’s about another representative of the infamous Belmont family. During the French Revolution, he has to team up with a group of vampire hunters and magicians to prevent the apocalypse.
Choona (Season 1) – September
A new Indian series about social injustice. Six people from the Indian underclass come together to plan a daring action that will change their precarious circumstances. However, none of them have any experience with such an undertaking…
These films were new to Netflix in September
There are a few Netflix originals on the new list for September. Particularly worth mentioning are the Danish costume film “Ehrengard: The Story of a Seduction” and the crime thriller “Street Flow 2”, the sequel to the successful film from 2019. We can also see “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez in the family-friendly action -Watch comedy “Spy Kids: Armageddon.”

Opulently staged Danish comedy about a self-proclaimed love expert who wants to teach a prince the art of seduction. All sorts of intrigues await him at the royal court.
Street Flow 2 – from September 27th
Two years after his near-death experience, Demba tries to fundamentally change his life while trying to resist the desire for revenge. His brothers also battle their inner demons; Noumouké finds himself caught between rival gangs and Soulaymaan must decide whether to abandon his convictions to pursue a career as a lawyer.
