New section For Freedom Museum highlights Monty’s WWII army group

The For Freedom Museum in Ramskapelle is the work of the Jones brothers. Their father was a Normandy veteran and that got them collecting. The museum was featured in numerous TV shows and it works. “We have experienced a growth of 35 percent. That’s why we don’t want to sit still. The Monty’s Men expansion is a new challenge, but there is more to come,” says Danny Jones.

Authentic items

The new wing highlights Montgomery’s liberation army advancing from Normandy. The objects, replica vehicles and scenes are authentic or truthful. All nationalities of the allied 21ste army group are gathered here. “For example, we have a photo where horses amble through the Lippenslaan on November 2, 1944. Very interesting is a soldier in a leather jacket where Mikey Mouse takes the swastika by the throat,” says Freddy Jones. (Read more below the photo.)

The For Freedom Museum in Ramskapelle near Knokke-Heist is open on weekends and every day during school holidays.
