Martin Scorsese’s latest film, Killers Of The Flower Moon, will hit German cinemas on October 19th. Now it has been announced that the historical drama with Leonardo DiCaprio should be “almost 4 hours long”.
According to other reports, the film will run at 3 hours and 20 minutes, which would be 10 minutes shorter than Scorsese’s last film, The Irishman, which is his longest work to date. After “Variety“ reported about the significant excess length, reacted some fans on Twitter skeptical. “I like long movies so running time doesn’t bother me but if it’s like ‘The Irishman’ then by the time it comes out it’s going to be a Twitter darling and people will forget about it because it wasn’t captivating for almost four hours were,” wrote one user, for example.
I like long movies so I really don’t mind the runtime but if it’s anything like The Irishman, it’ll be a Twitter darling right up until it comes out and people will forget about it because they weren’t enthralled for nearly 4 hours .

With an estimated budget of 200 million US dollars, the film can also keep up with “The Irishman” in terms of production costs. The Netflix film cost anywhere from $160 million to $250 million, depending on the report. Again, Scorsese favorite Robert De Niro will be seen. The basis for the western drama was David Grann’s non-fictional book of the same name. Set in 1920s Oklahoma, the book and film follow the assassination of several Osage First Nations and the investigation of the fledgling FBI.
After the film hits theaters, it will be available on Apple TV+, which has secured the rights to it.
