The seven-member gang suspected of violent robberies in the regions of West Friesland and Alkmaar is now also linked to the very violent robbery in Heerhugowaard in June last year. The group has already been brought to justice for a series of other robberies, including the murder of Sjaak Groot from Berkhout.
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) therefore adds the robbery in Heerhugowaard to this. In addition, the group may have committed another robbery in Dreumel in Gelderland. The Public Prosecution Service reports this in the run-up to a new interim hearing tomorrow, where three of the seven suspects must appear.
She, and the four others who appear later, are now suspected of a total of seven robberies, which they are said to have committed in varying combinations. The police conducted a long and, according to their own words, very intensive investigation.
Earlier it became clear that it concerns very violent actions in Noord-Scharwoude, Nieuwe Niedorp, De Goorn, Avenhorn and the deadly robbery in Berkhout, in which Sjaak Groot was killed. Now the violent robbery is on the Hemke family from Heerhugowaard linked to one of the suspects, namely the woman from Rotterdam.
The Public Prosecution Service has now arrested seven suspects, they come from Alkmaar, Heerhugowaard, Noord-Scharwoude, Opmeer, Obdam and two from Rotterdam. Except for the woman from Rotterdam, they are all still in prison.
On that night in June last year, a man, woman and their son were terrified and severely beaten. “Jewelry and a car were stolen,” said the Public Prosecution Service.
Gelderland
In addition, the suspect Opmeerder is linked to a robbery in Dreumel in Gelderland, on December 30, 2020.
“A large sum of money, jewelry and the car of the victims was stolen, among other things.” De Opmeerder is one of the men who must appear tomorrow. It cannot be ruled out that other suspects are also linked to this.
For all of the above robberies, a plan would have been made for a nighttime cash hunt. Firearms were used and there were also several victims: they were tied up or shot at in their own home.
Tomorrow NH Nieuws will be at the hearing with three suspects, then more may be known.
