The death of Sander Vos brought Westerbork a blow. Vos was one of the most seen Börkers and also manager of restaurant De Turfsteker. He made the catering company flourish and that work is continued by two acquaintances.
They have both been on the clock for some years. Hugo Treur has been working in De Turfsteker for ten years and colleague Arnold Schoenmaker for sure the triple. They know what they have together and expand the success story in the spirit of Vos.
“This step, although forced, was a fairly logical for us,” says Treur. “The continuation seemed like a good idea,” adds shoemaker. Both partners rolled up their sleeves when it unexpectedly went wrong with fox. A cardiac arrest struck him during the Carbage Run last February, a road trip with old barrels through Norway and Sweden. The Westerborker ended up in the hospital. First in Norway, at the end in Emmen.
