New owner takes over the name and website of travel organization Vacansoleil

Online travel agency Maeva will rebuild travel brand Vacansoleil. The curators of the bankrupt travel organization Vacansoleil in Eindhoven have sold the brand and the internet address of the website to Maeva. The new owner will initially take over only eight to ten employees from the approximately three hundred people who worked for Vacansoleil until recently.

Maeva is part of the Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs Group. Vacansoleil’s organization and accommodations will not be transferred to the company. The curators hope to sell these at a later stage.

Strong brand
The French Maeva plans to scale up with Vacansoleil as quickly as possible. Director Nicolas Beaurain of Maeva: “Vacansoleil is a good and strong brand with more than fifty years of experience in the European camping market. We are very happy that we can maintain this and give the brand a new future. Not only in the Netherlands, but also in other European countries.”

Curator Ben Arends indicates that the employees have been informed that a complete restart of the Vacansoleil organization is not possible. “The current outcome is the most meaningful thing we could achieve for Vacansoleil at this time. In any case, Vacansoleil and the business concept really get a new chance,” says Arends.

Maeva offers accommodations, including 1300 campsites, on an online marketplace. According to the company, more than half a million people book their holidays there every year.
