The former library building in Harderwijk has been sold for 2.5 million euros to a new owner, Oude Bieb BV. That is no less than 2.5 times the amount for which the municipality sold the building. “That 1 million was a real bargain.”

After the building has been virtually empty for several years – lately artist Peter Riezebosch has used it as a studio – the long-awaited work will start in September. The plans are being implemented as was best selected by the municipality in 2020. A design competition was then launched for the building on the Academiestraat that was in use by the library until 2017 and that the municipality had bought for 865,000 euros.
