New outlets in Frankfurt and Bielefeld

Zalando opens new stationary stores in Frankfurt and Bielefeld.

The Berlin online retailer plans to open the two new outlets in the summer, the company said on Wednesday. In Frankfurt, it will be the online retailer’s second store. This opens in the first week of August in the shopping street ‘die Zeil’. A range of around 2,000 brands is offered on a sales area of 1,700 square meters. The existing shop on Leipziger Strasse will remain open for the time being.

The outlet in Bielefeld opens its doors to customers at the end of August. In the future, around 15,000 items will be offered there on a sales area of 1,500 square meters. With the new store in Bielefeld, Zalando will then operate four outlets in North Rhine-Westphalia.

“The Zalando outlets have been around for more than ten years now. Launched as a pilot project, they now complement Zalando’s other offerings in a strategically sensible way. In the outlets, for example, we sell goods that we can no longer offer in the online shop – for example individual sizes, returns or items from the previous season,” says Dorothee Schönfeld, Managing Director of Zalando Outlets, about the role of the stores.
