New oldest Belgian is 109-year-old from Hainaut: “Have I had a happy life? Just say a normal life”

The new oldest Belgian is 109 years old and comes from the province of Hainaut. Anthony Croes-Lacroix of the Gerontology Research Group (GRC) announced this. This concerns Fernande Courtoy, who currently lives in a retirement home in the Charleroi region. She was born in Thuin on July 4, 1914, a few days before the outbreak of the First World War.
