The Beatles come with the latest new number, possibly made by artistic intelligence (AI). This is the name of the former bandlid Paul McCartney (80) on the British radio station ‘BBC Radio 4’. Met AI hebben ze de stem van John Lennon, which in 1980 overleed, uit een oude demo halen om het nummer af te maken.
“The number was given that year,” said McCartney in his 80s. Hij lost geen titel voor het lied, maar zal waarschijnlijk ‘Now and Then’ heten. So heette also een composition van Lennon from 1978 which was overtaken in 1995 al eens as a series number for The Beatles. Het muziekstuk stond op een cassette with all sorts of other numbers that Lennon had written kort voor zijn dood. Op de cassette stond ‘For Paul’ (‘Voor Paul’, red.); Lennon’s vrouw Yoko Ono overhanded het a McCartney in 1994.
George Harrison vond het number didn’t go well in uiteindelijk besloot de band het song didn’t uit te brengen. In 2009 we released a demo of ‘Now and Then’. De jaren nadien heeft Paul McCartney meermaals zijn demand om het number after te made geuit. Dankzij AI heeft hij nu delijk zijn droom can warmaken.
