Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre will publish his new novel “Noch Wach?” on April 17 as part of his book presentation at the Berliner Ensemble. This is followed by an extensive tour that ends on June 2nd in Berlin. The 27 readings will take you through Stuttgart, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg, among other places. The exact date and tickets are available here.
“‘Still awake?’ is a moral painting of our time, a typical stucco wheel barre. Brilliantly literary, humorous and uncompromising, this novel tells of power structures and abuse of power, courage and human abysses,” advertises the publishing house Kiepenheuer & Witsch for the book. “Berlin: A young woman talks about her new job at a major television station, about her new boss, her new life. She seems happy, inspired, hopeful, it sounds good. Too good?” – this is how the work is described, in which the #MeToo movement should also be a topic.
After his debut novel “Soloalbum” in 1998, the writer and ROLLING STONE author, who was born in 1975, published numerous works, such as the autobiography “Panikherz” in 2016, and most recently “All have become so serious” together with Martin Suter in 2020, in which 16 conversations between the both were logged on various topics.
