Snoop Dogg joins the vampire hunters: For the new Netflix film “Day Shift”, rapper and occasional actor Snoop Dogg takes on blood-sucking creatures of the night together with Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco.
The film follows a Los Angeles area vampire hunter, played by Foxx, who takes up the mundane job of cleaning a pool as a cover. However, both jobs probably don’t make too much money, so that the protagonist is mostly short of money. That doesn’t suit his wife, who has long since left the marriage emotionally. She threatens to flee to Florida with their daughter. Out of necessity, the family man turns to an old acquaintance (Snoop Dogg) in order to be accepted back into an ominous association of vampire hunters.
Concentrated “John Wick” power
“Day Shift” will probably have certain similarities to the successful action film series “John Wick“, which is mainly due to overlapping personnel. The strip is being produced by “John Wick” director Chad Stahelski. And in JH Perry, a well-known stuntman, stunt choreographer and second-unit director makes his directorial debut, having worked on the first two John Wick films. Shay Hatten, who was one of the writing teams for the third and fourth “John Wick” films, is responsible for the screenplay. So the new film shouldn’t be lacking in action.

Snoop Dogg as an actor
Snoop Dogg has appeared in a number of films, mostly in non-serious roles. For example, he had an appearance in the horror film satire “Scary Movie 5”. But the rapper could also be seen in “Pitch Perfect 2” or “Starsky & Hutch”. Recently, Snoop Dogg has made headlines again with his music: at the end of June he released a new song together with Eminem.
