New Narratives: the Emerging Artists Program

Program N/n It is a group space for training and experimentation that aims to support the work and authorial positioning of its participants. This is the first year that the project will include Spanish-speaking artists from anywhere in the world and, for this reason, registration is open for the second places for the 2024 course aimed at emerging artists.

The program disciplines are: narrative, poetry, cinema, new media (video art + video installation). Year after year, reading events are held, productions are shared on networks, anthology books and texts are published on the online platform of Revista N/n. In addition, alliances are organized with other magazines, publishers, art galleries and festivals to promote new spaces for dissemination to participants in each discipline.

The tutorials are given by recognized leaders in each specialty, and are taught in person and virtually for nine months, from March to December 2024. Each student enrolls in a chosen discipline. The course also offers a multiple experience of master classes, work accompaniment, exchange of experiences, special talks with editors and producers in order to generate links and guide paths in industries that require extra effort from the artists themselves.

“Program N/n is interdisciplinary. Those who study Cinema, for example, will also be able to participate in Narrative, and vice versa. This modality is based on the conception that those who dedicate themselves to art are never dedicated to a single discipline or have a single concern. This innovative proposal differentiates the program from the traditional dynamics of careers, workshops and clinics, while at the same time it meets a need for years of those aspiring to artistic training themselves,” said the project coordinator, Francisco Giarcovich.
