On January 10, 2022, the cabinet members of the Rutte IV cabinet were sworn in. Wopke Hoekstra (CDA) is the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Liesje Schreinemacher (VVD) is the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
Official transfer of ministry
The new ministers were sworn in by King Willem-Alexander at Noordeinde Palace. After the ceremony, Minister Hoekstra and Minister Schreinemacher left for their new department in The Hague. This is where the official transfer took place.
Wopke Hoekstra has been Minister of Finance since 2017. He now succeeds Ben Knapen as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Hoekstra is also deputy prime minister.
Liesje Schreinemacher has been a member of the European Parliament since 2019. She succeeds Tom de Bruijn as Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.
